Work continues on Odd Fellows Road highway improvement project
Additional lane closures to take place
LYNCHBURG, Va. – Work continues on a project to extend Odd Fellows Road and construct an intersection at Route 29/460 in the City of Lynchburg. Additional lane closures will begin this weekend and extend until further notice.
Motorists are beginning to see much of this work come into focus. Significant amounts of dirt have been moved, concrete and steel work has shaped the new bridges over US 29/460 and some of the connecting roadway features can be viewed.
Beginning Sunday, August 20 around 10 am, Wagman, the prime contractor on the project, will use lane closures to work on the edge of pavement on US 460 between Campbell Avenue and Candlers Mountain Road. Work in the west- and eastbound lanes will be done Sunday into Monday morning, weather permitting.
Motorists should continue to be alert to the 45 mph speed limit in the work zone, equipment entering/exiting the roadway and other lane closures for the duration of the project.
The project is slated for completed by August 2018.
