ROUTE 27/110 OVERNIGHT CLOSURES FRIDAY AND SATURDAY
Nighttime short-term closures for bridge rehabilitation
ARLINGTON – Beginning 11 p.m. Friday, September 25 through 6 a.m. on Sunday, September 27, weather permitting, the Virginia Department of Transportation will be removing a few of the bridge girders on Washington Boulevard (Route 27) over Jefferson Davis Highway (Route 110) in Arlington County.
The detailed work schedule includes:
- September 25-26 from 11:00 PM on Friday through 5:00 AM on Saturday, periodic up to 30 minutes closure on the ramp from southbound route 27 to Pentagon.
- September 25-26 from 11:00 PM on Friday through 5:00 AM on Saturday, periodic up to 30 minutes closure on Southbound route 110.
- September 26-27 from 11:00 PM on Saturday through 6:00 AM on Sunday, periodic up to 30 minutes closure on ramp from Pentagon’s north parking lot to northbound 110.
- September 26-27 from 11:00 PM on Saturday through 6:00 AM on Sunday, periodic up to 30 minutes closure on northbound 110.
The work is part of construction to proceed for the project to rehabilitate the Route 27 over Route 110 bridge. The $31.5 million project is scheduled for completion in May 2018.
As of 2013, Route 27 carries 71,500 vehicles per day and Route 110 carries 61,500 vehicles per day. For more information, visit the project page.
