Fairfax County Parkway South Nighttime Closures Jan. 4
Full closures up to 20 minutes for overhead sign installation


Update: The closures have been postponed to between 10 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 and 5 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19 as follows:

Single-lane closures: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Full closures up to 20 minutes each: Midnight to 4 a.m.


FAIRFAX
– Lane closures along southbound Fairfax County Parkway (Route 286) between Route 29 and Braddock Road (Route 620) will occur, weather permitting, between 10 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4 and 5 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5 for overhead sign installation, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The closure schedule is as follows:

  • Single-lane closures: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Full closures up to 20 minutes each: Midnight to 4 a.m.

Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternate routes.
