Public Information Meeting for Route 7 at Battlefield Parkway
Join VDOT May 16 to learn about project and provide input

LEESBURG – The Virginia Department of Transportation is holding a public information meeting Tuesday, May 16 on plans to replace the traffic signal at Route 7 (East Market Street) and Battlefield Parkway with an interchange to reduce congestion and improve traffic operations. Four design alternatives for the interchange are being considered as part of the preliminary design phase of the project.  

The project also includes:

  • Removing or modifying the signalized intersection at Route 7 and Cardinal Park Drive
  • Accommodations for cyclists and pedestrians
  • New interchange lighting

Preliminary engineering has been funded by the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority.               

The public is invited to stop by between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. at John W. Tolbert Jr. Elementary School, 691 Potomac Station Drive, Leesburg, VA 20176 to view displays and learn more about the project. VDOT staff will be available to answer questions.
