VDOT TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING ON INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS PROJECTS ON JEFFERSON DAVIS HIGHWAY IN CHESTER
Improvements include upgraded traffic signals, new turn lanes and pedestrian accommodations
COLONIAL HEIGHTS —The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a design public hearing on the proposed intersection improvements projects along Jefferson Davis Highway (Route 1) in Chester. The projects will address traffic movement and safety through the intersections with Woods Edge Road (Route 620) and Happy Hill Road. Improvements include upgraded traffic signals, adding turn lanes and pedestrian accommodations.
The public hearing will be conducted in an open forum, with one-on-one dialogue with VDOT representatives. The hearing will provide an opportunity for individuals, businesses or organizations to give VDOT input on the project.
Comments about the proposed project may be submitted at the hearing or until September 1, 2016 by mailing them to Jason Zhang, P.E., Project Manager, Virginia Department of Transportation, 2430 Pine Forest Drive, Colonial Heights, VA 23834-9002.
