New pedestrian accommodations will improve area connectivity

COLONIAL HEIGHTS — Weather permitting, Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews will begin work on a project to provide new pedestrian accommodations on Brook Rd. (Route 1) in Henrico County on Monday, March 13. Construction will include upgrading traffic signals, curb ramps and new crosswalks at the Villa Park Drive and Wilkinson Road intersections. Minimal traffic impacts are expected.

The $2 million project will provide enhanced safety and better connectivity for local businesses and the St. Joseph’s Villa community. The work is expected to be complete by the end of summer 2017.
