TRAFFIC ALERT: ROUTE 11 BRIDGE REPLACEMENTS OVER TINKER CREEK IN BOTETOURT COUNTY SCHEDULED TO BEGIN
Preparations begin tomorrow and drivers should expect delays and plan travel accordingly

SALEM - Work to replace the two existing bridges on Route 11 over Tinker Creek is scheduled to officially begin December 20 in Botetourt County. This project will replace existing bridges on Route 11 near the intersections of Route 838 (Vista Drive) and Route 1039 (Gibson Lane).

As the project prepares to begin, the right northbound lane will be closed starting Monday, December 11 and Tuesday, December 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should use caution and watch for signs and flaggers controlling traffic

During the project, there will be one lane in each direction on Route 11 and there will be some left turn restrictions in place. Message boards on Route 11 will advise motorists of the closure and detour signs will be in place directing traffic around the closure.

Drivers should expect delays and plan their travel accordingly through the area and use caution in the work zone.

This project is expected to be completed in November 2019.
