TRAFFIC ALERT: ROUTE 771 CLOSED DUE TO PIPE FAILURE IN PATRICK COUNTY

SALEM - Beginning immediately, Wednesday, June 7, Route 771 (Willis Gap Mountain Road) is closed to through traffic due to a pipe failure underneath the roadway. The road will be closed from Route 608 (Boundary Road) to Route 677 (Orchard View Drive). Access to homes in the area will be available on either side of the closure.

Through traffic is being detoured to use Route 608 (Boundary Road) to Route 691 (Orchard Gap Road) to Route 678 (Old Dominion Road) in Carroll County to Route 677 (Orchard View Drive) in Patrick County back onto Route 771 (Willis Gap Mountain Road). 

Crews are currently assessing the area for necessary repairs. There is currently no estimated time for the road to re-open.
