ALL LANES OPEN ON NORTHBOUND I-81 IN ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY
STAUNTON – (3:35 p.m.) Both northbound lanes of Interstate 81 are back open in Rockbridge County, following a tractor trailer crash that took place this morning near mile marker 191. Crews removed the wrecked vehicles, repaired guardrail damage and opened both lanes to traffic about 3:30 p.m.
Traffic backups on northbound I-81 are currently about 10 miles, but are expected to quickly diminish this afternoon.
The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.
