SOUTHBOUND I-81 TRAFFIC DETOURED IN ROCKINGHAM COUNTY
STAUNTON – (10:25 a.m.) Both southbound lanes of Interstate 81 are closed in Rockingham County, as bridge engineers from the Virginia Department of Transportation inspect the Route 793 overpass. Until the bridge inspection is complete, southbound I-81 traffic is being detoured at exit 264 (New Market/Timberville/Luray). Motorists will travel west on Route 211, south on Route 42 and continue south on Route 259 to return to the interstate at exit 257 (Mauzy/Broadway).
Route 793 (Concord Church Road) is also closed pending the result of the bridge inspection.
