DAYTIME SINGLE LANE TRAFFIC ON ROUTE 39 FOR TWO WEEKS IN ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY

STAUNTON – The Virginia Department of Transportation will have daytime single-lane closures using flagger traffic control on Route 39 (Maury River Road) beginning on Monday, February 27.  The work is in the Goshen Pass area of Rockbridge County. 

The lane closures are expected to last approximately 14 days.  Work will take place six days-a-week, with no Sunday work, during this period. 

The work zone is located from 3.2-mile east of Route 601 (Millard Burke Memorial Highway) to 2.6 miles west of Route 621 (Farm House Road).

Crews will be performing slope work.  Contractors will install soil nails at this location.  Soil nails are concrete and steel rods driven horizontally beneath the roadbed. 

All work is weather permitting.
