I-81 NORTHBOUND LANE CLOSURE IN WARREN COUNTY TONIGHT FOR BRIDGE WORK

STAUNTON – The right lane of northbound Interstate 81 is scheduled to be closed from 7 p.m. tonight through 7 a.m. Friday morning for bridge work at mile marker 299.8 in Warren County. The location is near the Shenandoah-Warren county line and just south of the junction of I-81 and I-66.

Contractors are pouring a new concrete deck overlay on the bridge over Route 840 (Water Plant Road). The right lane closure may need to extend later than 7 a.m. Friday to ensure that the concrete is fully cured and ready for traffic. Motorists may experience delays on northbound I-81 this evening and again Friday morning.

All work is weather permitting.
