ROUTE 616 IN ALLEGHANY COUNTY CLOSED NOVEMBER 6
STAUNTON – A portion of Route 616 (Rich Patch Road) in Alleghany County south of Covington is scheduled to be closed on Monday, November 6, for a drainage pipe replacement. The closure will be in place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Route 621 (Roaring Run Road) and Route 620 (Watahala Lane). All work is weather permitting.
Through traffic using Route 616 should follow one of these posted detours:
- Northbound traffic will detour north on Route 619 (Hayes Gap Road), west on Route 657 (Pfizer Gap Road), north on Route 18 (Potts Creek Road/Carpenter Drive), east on Route 60 (Madison Street), east on Interstate 64 to exit 21, and then south on Route 696 (Selma-Low Moor Road) to the end of the detour.
- Southbound traffic will detour north on Route 696 (Selma-Low Moor Road), west on Interstate 64 to exit 16A, west on Route 60 (Madison Street), south on Route 18 (Carpenter Drive/Potts Creek Road), east on Route 657 (Pfizer Gap Road), and then south on Route 619 (Hayes Gap Road) to the end of the detour.
