Integrated Directional Signing Program
You’ve seen them all along Virginia’s highways - those helpful signs that guide you to gas, food, lodging, campgrounds, attractions, hospitals and more. Do you manage a business, service or attraction and want it to be listed on one of those signs? Or do you just want to know what the signs mean and what you'll find if you follow them? If so, keep reading.
A One-Stop Signing Program
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has developed the Integrated Directional Sign Program to serve as an umbrella for four specific programs that include these signs:
Travel services (logo) signs
Tourist-oriented direction signs
Supplemental guide signs
General motorist-service signs
Who Was Involved?
The Virginia Statewide Directional Signing Advisory Committee helped VDOT develop the “one-stop” program. The committee members represent the many businesses and organizations interested in the signs.
Learn More
Go through this site to learn more about each program. Revised fees and participation criteria and a bumping policy were approved by the Commonwealth Transportation Board on June 16, 2005.
