Acknowledge Programs
The power of recognition:
Recognizing good work leads to high energy, great feelings, high-quality performance and terrific results. Not acknowledging good work causes lethargy, resentment, sorrow and withdrawal. – Judith W. Umlas (The Power of Acknowledgement, IIL Publishing, New York, 2006)
The Virginia SRTS Acknowledgement Program offers three levels of recognition, allowing individual acknowledgements for those working in local programs, as well as statewide acknowledgment for individuals, organizations, and schools.
You Did It!
A play on the Virginia SRTS Program Learn It. Do It. Live It! theme, the You Did It certificate award can be used by local programs to recognize outstanding individuals, or groups of individuals, that demonstrate hard work, positivity, and creativity as part of a SRTS effort.. The downloadable certificate can be completed online, then printed, signed and framed before presenting. Let us know when you use this certificate, and will include it in an upcoming Virginia SRTS Program newsletter. Simply contact your LTAC with the information (a photo would be great, too).
The Sixth ‘E’ Award
ANNUAL VDOT SRTS RECOGNITION AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE
Using the familiar 5 E’s – the Sixth ‘E’ Award is given for excellence in contributing to safe routes to school. Up to fifteen awards will be made each year, one per ‘E’ category from each of the three LTAC regions: Encouragement, Education, Enforcement, Engineering, and Evaluation. Information on the nomination process will be available in May 2013.
SRTS Live it! Award
OUTSTANDING SCHOOL DESIGNATION
For schools that demonstrate excellent results in SRTS initiatives, the Live It! award celebrates their accomplishments and shares their ideas with fellow local Virginia SRTS programs. Three SRTS Live it! Awards would be made each year – one from each region. Information on the nomination process will be available in May 2013.
