May 8 - Bike to School Day
The first-ever National Bike to School Day took place on May 9, 2012, in coordination with the League of American Bicyclists’ National Bike Month and featured almost 1,000 local events in 49 states and the District of Columbia. Last year, a record setting 3,205 schools participated across the country, including 286 right here in Virginia!

June 12 - America Walks Webinar
Safe Speeds, Safe Communities - Partners in Speed Management: June 12, 2019 at 2:00 PM Eastern
Speed management is an important component in creating a safe community. Tune into this webinar from America Walks to learn how organizations and individuals can work together to decrease speed and increase safety in their communities. August 8 - Quick Start Mini-grant Applications Due
Mark your calendars for the first QuickStart Mini-grant due date of the 2019-2020 school year! QuickStart Mini-grants are $1,000 grants that are perfect for SRTS activities coordinated with the beginning of the school year or in support of Walk to School Day in October. There are three due dates every fall and three in the spring; eligibility information and a link to the online application can be found on the QuickStart Mini-grants webpage.
