What's Being Done

Currently, work is underway to build Phase I of the Route 460 widening in the downtown Grundy area of Buchanan County.

Phase II, which ties in with the section of Route 460 currently under construction and extends to Route 615, is currently being designed and right of way acquisition is nearing completion. This section of Route 460 will be constructed on a new location. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2009. The construction estimate for Phase II is $31 million.

Preliminary engineering and right of way acquisition is also underway for Phase III, which extends from Route 615 to Royal City. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2010. The construction estimate for Phase III is $14.5 million.

Benefits

Widening of Route 460 in the Grundy area will complete the four-laning of Route 460 from Claypool Hill to Grundy.
