On Dec. 22, 2017, VDOT completed work on the Route 230 (Wolftown-Hood Road) bridge over the Rapidan River in Madison County and the Route 15 (James Madison Highway) bridge over Carys Creek in Fluvanna County.
Crews rehabilitated the riding surface and the bridge abutments and piers to extend the surface life of both bridges.
The Rapidan River bridge in Madison County carries 3,200 vehicles per day, and about 5,100 vehicles use the Cary's Creek bridge in Fluvanna County daily, according to 2016 traffic counts.
