About the Project:
This project will widen Princess Anne Road at the Kilmer Lane intersection to include left turn lanes to south bound Kilmer Lane and a right turn lane to north bound Kilmer Lane. Also, three through lanes will be created west bound on Princess Anne Road from the beginning of the project to Sigmon Street. The third lane From Kilmer Lane to Sigmon Street will become a right turn only lane.
In addition, a cul-de-sac will be constructed on East Princess Anne Road. Access to East Princess Anne Road will be eliminated from Kilmer Lane and will be from Sigmon Street only. Exclusive right and left turn lanes will be provided on southbound Kilmer Lane. Drainage in the area will be upgraded. Landscaping is proposed on the north side of Princess Anne Road in a 12-foot space provided for that purpose.
Combination light and traffic signal poles will be provided at the intersection of Princess Anne Road and Kilmer Lane. Vehicle detection will be accommodated through video detection cameras. Additionally, the traffic signal will be interconnected to the City’s Traffic Management System and will include surveillance cameras for management of traffic flow along the Princess Anne Road corridor.
