This project will rehabilitate the North Glebe Road (Route 120) bridge over Pimmit Run. The bridge was built in 1973.
The planned improvements include:
- Repairing and resurfacing the bridge deck
- Repairing, waterproofing and providing corrosion protection to abutments and piers
- Repairing, cleaning and painting beams
- Replacing pedestrian walkway railings
- Upgrading guardrails and drainage
North Glebe Road averages 12,000 vehicles a day along the bridge.
Preliminary Engineering - $450,000
Construction - $7 million
Total - $7.5 million
The project is being financed with state and federal State of Good Repair funds used for maintenance of structures and bridges.
This project aims to improve safety for drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians and extend the overall life of the bridge.
