This project opened to traffic on September 3, 2009.
About the Project
Located in the Town of Leesburg, this project will extend Battlefield Parkway from existing Kincaid Boulevard to Route 7 (approximately seven-tenths of a mile).
The new four-lane road will provide an alternate route to Route 15 and the Route 15 Bypass. The parkway will allow motorists to access the Dulles Greenway and Leesburg Executive Airport. This $35 million project will be complete in late 2009.
The project includes:
- Construction of a four-lane divided roadway
- Two bridges crossing the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority (W&OD Railroad Regional Park) and Tuscarora Creek
- A 10-foot shared-use path parallel to the road
- Noise barrier wall
- Retaining walls
