This project will replace the weight-restricted one-lane Hunter Mill Road bridge over Colvin Run. The new bridge will have two lanes and four-foot-wide shoulders.
The existing bridge, built in 1974, averages 7,200 vehicles per day; traffic is projected to increase to 11,000 vehicles per day by 2043.
The project aims to reduce congestion and improve operations and safety.

This project is being financed with federal and state funding, including State of Good Repair funds used for maintenance of structures and bridges.
