What's Being Done
VDOT has completed rebuilding the ramp that carries traffic from Duke Street (Route 236) eastbound to I-395 northbound, more than two months ahead of schedule. The truck and bus restriction that had been in place since September 2008 has also been lifted.
Reconstruction of the overpass included a new concrete deck, approach curb, guardrails and new lighting. Read the news release here.
Traffic Impacts
Trucks, buses and RVs accessing northbound I-395 from eastbound Duke Street (VA Route 236) were detoured during construction.
