Project at a Glance
What's Being Done
The Aldie traffic calming project is expected to be advertised for construction in October 2009, and is scheduled to break ground in 2010. The project details are very similar to the Upperville project. The traffic calming improvements for Aldie area priority of the Route 50 Task Force.
Drivers approaching Aldie will be transitioned to the town speed limit with landscaping, sidewalks, and raised crosswalks and intersections in the village area.
The materials used for the sidewalks, curbs, crosswalks, and raised
intersections will be chosen to complement the historic and rural nature
of the community.
