Project Details
This project will amend the existing signalized intersection located at Courthouse Road and Allin Road (near Ft. Lee) to a roundabout. The project will also install a sidewalk and resurface the road. Temporary signals will also be installed to control traffic during the construction process.The project began Sept. 2009 with an estimated completion date by August 2010. August 19, 2009 News Release
Why Does the Intersection Need to be Reconstructed?
The roundabout is being installed to reduce the number of traffic accidents and fatalities at this intersection.
Traffic Impacts
Motorists can expect delays in this area due to overnight detours on Allin Road and daytime alternating lane closures on both Courthouse Road and Allin Road. Work will take place between 8 a.m. - 2 p.m., then from 6 p.m. - 5 a.m. through August 2010. Detours will only take place during night-time hours and will be clearly posted. Drivers can expect delays.
