The bridge reopened to traffic Aug. 14, 2016.
The bridge replacement is now complete. The project included replacing the bridge structure, originally built in 1939. Improvements include widening the travel lanes from 10 feet to 11 feet and adding a 4-foot lane for cycling accommodations. Genito Rd. (Rt. 604) is part of the United States Bike Route 1 (USBR1), an American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO)-designated route for cycling. The new bridge width is 34 feet wide.
A design public hearing was held October 16, 2013.
