What's Being Done

The purpose of this project was to improve safety and traffic flow at the intersection of Barnetts Rd. (Rt. 609) and Lott Cary Rd. (Rt. 602) in Charles City County.

Previously, the roads intersected at two separate locations, which reduced motorists' visilibity and increases risk of crashes. The new configuration now has only one 'T' intersection.

Since most traffic in this area uses Barnetts Rd. (Rt. 609) to access Lott Cary Rd. (Rt. 602), the project realigned the roads to reduce the curve and allow traffic to flow more freely.
