What's Being Done
This project involves the construction of a multi-lane road in Henrico County that will connect Route 895 just west of where it crosses Monahan Road to the intersection of South Airport Drive and Charles City Road. The project is approximately 1.6 miles in length and includes the construction of an interchange at Route 895, a four-lane divided highway with a bridge over Sprouse Road and a bridge over the CSX railroad tracks south of Charles City Road.
Why is this road being built?
The purpose of the project is to improve system linkage between Route 895 and the Richmond International Airport. This will improve access and reduce airport travel time for passengers, employees of airport-related businesses and other area businesses.
