What's Being Done
The purpose of this project is to replace the existing, deficient bridges over Route 360 Business and the Norfolk Southern Railroad with new bridges at the same location.
The new bridges will have two 12-foot wide lanes with 4-foot wide shoulders, giving drivers a 32-foot wide clear roadway width for enhanced visibility and safety.
The new bridges will be built one at a time, with all traffic temporarily shifting to one bridge, while the other is demolished and rebuilt. Short, intermittent detours will be in place for on- and off-ramp accesses during the traffic shifts. Construction on both bridges is expected to take approximately two years to complete.
A design public hearing will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at the Amelia County Administrator’s Conference Room, located at 16360 Dunn St, Amelia Court House, VA 23002. The meeting brochure is now available for viewing.
VDOT will review and evaluate any information received as a result of this public hearing. You may also email your comments to Anthony.Haverly@vdot.virginia.gov. Please reference “Route 360 bridge public hearing comment” in the subject line.
Information must be postmarked, emailed or delivered by November 26, 2017 in order to be included in the public hearing record. Project information shared here is available for review after this public hearing at:
